    The 2020 version of Beaumont’s Chenin Blanc is made from 84% Bot River fruit and 16 % from the Overberg, making the wine of Origin for this vintage Cape South Coast. This is the first time that they have had to source from outside the Bot River ward. Yields were very low due to drought. This vintage is a beautiful expression of the grape capturing the full flavour and potential that our terroir has to offer. It is a delicious example of cooler climate Chenin Blanc fermented in concrete and stainless steel tanks. Dry, fresh and delicious!

    This unique wine is produced on the island of Santorini. The vines are planted on a 15-degree slope facing East and Southeast on transferred pumice stone soil. The wine is made from the Assyrtiko grape and is light and aromatic. Only free run must is used, which is then fermented for approximately days at 15C. The resulting wine is almost white in color, bone-dry, with strong character, eliciting considerable structure, with crisp acidity, distinctive minerality and delicate honeysuckle aromas.

    There are few Pinot Grigio’s like Venica’s, an exceptional wine from a single vineyard “Jesera”located in the DOC Collio.  Pinot Grigio (a genetic mutation of Pinot Noir) is not a typical yellow or green skin grape but rather one with a grey-pink to purplish hue – hence “Grigio”.  Extended skin contact gives this wine a wonderful copper hue, very much apparent in the 2019 vintage.   On the nose, the wine shows a complex bouquet that ranges from mimosa to jasmine, acacia, ginger, pink pepper, pear and rennet apple, all wrapped in a frame of citrus and mineral nuances. The palate echoes the lively and savory aromas, creating a refreshing, intense and balanced wine.
