Casa Marin

Casa Marín is a boutique winery and fine wine producer. It stands out for its unique cool climate terroir located in Lo Abarca – part of the San Antonio Valley – just 4 kilometers from the Pacific coast. The wines have been recognized internationally for their quality, innovation and market value.Casa Marín’s story began with its founder, owner and winemaker, María Luz Marín’s, dream. In 2000, against advice from colleagues and experts, she decided to establish her winery in Lo Abarca, a small town in the San Antonio Valley. Despite warnings about problems with location, the cool climate and people’s disbelief, she was successful in creating a company whose wines have been awarded throughout the world and have helped position Chile in a distinct light with its high quality, high value wines.María Luz Marín built her own winemaking facility during the years 2003 and 2004, in order to produce wines with special characteristics from a maximum of 50 hectares. Her facility was specially built for a boutique winery, which has the ideal space and temperature qualities that extract the pure flavor from the grapes and that guarantees production quality. Felipe Marín, María Luz’s son, is the winemaker and head of the production and work at the winery.

Casa Marin Cartagena Pinot Noir 2019

Casa Marín produces four different Pinot Noirs originating in different Lo Abarca vineyard blocks. The different soils, clones, and vinification methods result in four completely different Pinot Noirs. Cartagena Pinot Noir can be described as Casa Marín’s most fruity and fresh one. The grapes come mainly from clay soils and are harvested two weeks earlier than our other Pinot Noirs. The wine is aged 12 months in French oak barrels without any new oak. This Pinot Noir has a less intense color but intense red fruit aromas. It has a lively acidity which gives the wine more depth.

Pale straw in colour. On the nose, bright, fresh and lifted with distinctive melon, kiwi and grassy notes. Clean and beautifully structured with hints of citrus and honey and fine balanced acidity. An admirable effort!
