Domaine Lapalus
Christophe Lapalus owns 17 hectares of vines in southern Burgundy in the village of Pierreclos. Here this third-generation winemaker makes wines in the purest Burgundy tradition. These wines from the Macon area are tremendous values.
For almost ten years the domaine has been practicing Lutte Raisonee, “the reasoned struggle’. This means they use chemicals less often and less aggressively than conventional growers, but only when absolutely necessary. Then in 2015 they were certified by the French Agriculture Ministry for HVE (High Environmental Value). HVE is less strict in terms of the elimination of chemical inputs than organic farming, but it emphasizes other points, such as the promotion of biodiversity, which, while it can be an important value for organic producers, is left out of the regulations and thus can easily be glossed over.
