Walker Bay

Located on the south coast of the Western Cape, about 100kms from Cape Town, Walker Bay is one of the coolest regions in South Africa. It's proximity to the coast gives it a maritime climate, and the "Cape Doctor" brings Antarctic breezes which cool the region further. This lengthens the ripening season, which concentrates flavour while retaining acidity. The region is centred around the town of Hermanus, which is famous for the southern right whales that are frequently seen. This, combined with the flourishing wine industry surrounding the town, has seen Walker Bay become a popular tourist destination in South Africa.

    Beaumont Chenin Blanc 2020

The 2020 version of Beaumont’s Chenin Blanc is made from 84% Bot River fruit and 16 % from the Overberg, making the wine of Origin for this vintage Cape South Coast. This is the first time that they have had to source from outside the Bot River ward. Yields were very low due to drought. This vintage is a beautiful expression of the grape capturing the full flavour and potential that our terroir has to offer. It is a delicious example of cooler climate Chenin Blanc fermented in concrete and stainless steel tanks. Dry, fresh and delicious!
