Terre Gaie (Happy Lands) is a family operation directed by Salvatore Lovo, his wife Rita Ferasin and their daughter Silvia. The Terre Gaie estate is located in the village of Vo' Euganeo, half way between the towns of Padova and Vicenza-- within a cluster of volcanic hills known as the Colli Euganei with a long winemaking tradition. This modern and dynamic winery produces about 150,000 bottles of high quality estate grown wine from the most favored hillside part of the region. The winery is modern, dating from 2004, built on the existing property of the Lovo and Ferasin families, who have owned vineyards in Vo' since the eighteenth century. The vineyards cover approximately 50 acres, mostly grown with indigenous grapes (Glera - previously known as Prosecco - among the most important) and along with some international grapes such as Chardonnay, Cabernet, Merlot. The estate vineyards are located on the hillside growing region known as Colli Euganei, with South West exposure at an altitude of 270-350 meters above sea level. Vine age is between 12 and 25 years.
The Me-Mo Rosso is Terre Gaie’s interpretation of a modern and dynamic red wine. Fruit forward, rich and mouthwatering, showing generous red fruits complemented by spicy notes giving an overall impression reminiscent mountain herbs (amaro). The fresh and fruity Merlot is bolstered by the complexity contributed by 15% Montepulciano sourced from the winery estate vineyards. Not technically allowed in an Italian wine labeled Merlot, but it makes for a great combination.
Produced from 100% Pinot Grigio grapes grown in the new (since 2017) D.O.C. of “della Venezie”. This area encompasses the Italian provinces of the Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia and the Trento portion of the Trentino-Alto Adige region.
Terre Gaie is a family run winery located in the Colli Euganei hills of the Veneto, which are a group of hills of volcanic origin, SW of Padua.
Matured in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks, the Pinot Grigio della Venezie is light, dry and refreshing, with fine delicate acacia flower, citrus and nutty aromas. The palate follows through with fresh citrus and green apple notes.
A product of the delicate, fruity, indigenous varietal Glera (formerly called Prosecco). Prosecco sparkling wine is produced using the Charmat Method, whereby the bubbles formed through a secondary fermentation are captured in special tanks, prior to bottling.
Named after Salvatore’s grandfather honouring his traditional winemaking techniques. This wine is made in minuscule amounts. This unique blend of Merlot along with the indigenous grapes of Veneto including Corvinone, Pattaresca, Turchetta come together in harmony to produce a fresh, food-friendly, full-bodied but very elegant red with great acidic backbone and pretty aromas including violet, morello cherry, mixed berries along with smoke and savory spice from new and second use barrique maturation.
