Tasting Notes
Franciacorta is one of the best-kept secrets among Champagne lovers. It’s produced in Lombardy in exactly the same way as champagne. The main difference is that it ages on the lees longer than Champagne, making it even more toasty and complex.
Food Pairings
It is an excellent aperitif and fine accompaniment to fish, seafood and delicate first courses.
Third Party Reviews
90% Chardonnay, part in aged barrels, 10% Pinot Noir. 7g/l dosage. There is a lightly earthy, slightly bruised apple note that is lovely. In the mouth really quite full and palate-filling freshness, and again that touch of the oxidised, bruised apple and pear. Nice hints of sweetness here, in a wine that is long and quite complex. Score 90, www.wine-pages.com, May 2014
