Alexander Zahel Gruner Veltliner Alte Reben 2024
The new Alexander Zahel Grüner Veltliner Alte Reben (Old Vines) comes from Retzer Land, a small designated area about 1 hour north of Vienna in the Niederösterreich growing area (aka Lower Austria which is located in the northeastern area of Austria). The soil in this area is mix of sandstone and granite with limestone topsoil perfect for developing a unique mineral character in the resulting wines. Biodynamic Grüner Veltliner was hand harvested from 45-year-old vines at the end of August to maintain a crisp acidity. Whole bunch pressing and spontaneous fermentation in 1200 ltr. Stockinger barrels (more on that below!) and 6 months on the fine lees. The wine received minimal sulfuring and no filtration or fining before bottling. Certified Bio, Demeter Certified and Regenerative Organic Certified. What more could you ask for?

Beaumont Chenin Blanc 2024
Made from 100% Beaumont, Bot River fruit. . This wine is punchy and full of character. The vintage produced plenty fruit with good concentration and a very long and slow fermentation. It is a delicious example of cooler climate Chenin Blanc fermented in concrete and stainless steel tanks. Dry, fresh and delicious!

Beaumont Chenin Blanc is a beautiful expression of the grape capturing the full flavour and potential. Green melon, apple, and delicate apricot blossom aromas on the nose. The palate has fresh green apple, pineapple flavours with a hint of wood spice. Crisp, well-balanced acidity keeps the wine fresh with great length.

Bruno Lafon Selections Le P’tit Chardo 2024
The 2024 Le P’tit Chardo (classified as Vin de France) is a pretty straw yellow in the glass. The bouquet is lively with aromas of peach, pineapple and tangerine that leads to a palate that is surprisingly rich and rounded with lovely supporting acidity. The finish is fresh and polished with a pleasant texture and lingering fruit. Excellent value and a very versatile wine to accompany picnics, BBQ’s or a summer evening at the lake.

Cantine Rallo Bianca di Evro 2023
The Evrò name pays homage to the Queen Bianca of Navarra (The White Queen) who was the queen consort of the King of Sicily during the reign of William I (1154-1166) and regent during the minority of her son William II. Her history is intertwined with the castle of Alcamo portrayed on the label.

Casa Marin Cartagena Sauvignon Blanc 2024
The Cartagena Sauvignon Blanc is produced with grapes that come from the highest vineyard plots, with direct exposure to the Pacific Ocean. The harvest was carried out the first week of April. The blend of 85% Sauvignon Blanc and 15% Sauvignon Gris was fermented separately in stainless steel and then blended before being bottled. On the nose it presents intense saline aromas, perfume of grapefruit and ripe citrus. It is complemented by tones of fresh herbs, asparagus and green mango. The clear acidity and the salinity of the Pacific Ocean are combined in this complex and balanced wine.

Casale Marchese Frascati Superiore 2023
The Casale Marchese estate makes Frascati as it should be made. They use the best clones of Malvasia and only the best 15 – 20% of their grapes are sold under their label. The remainder is sold to the local co-operative. The estate practices sustainable farming, coupled with high density, short-pruned planting, yielding limited grapes per vine. The result is optimal fruit concentration.

Domaine Collin Cremant de Limoux
The Domaine Collin Crémant de Limoux Tradition Brut is produced from hand-harvested grapes that undergo refined pressing in an advanced pneumatic press for delicate extraction. The wine is then cold stabilized for 24 hours. After transfer to temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks the wine undergoes primary fermentation followed by a three-month secondary fermentation in the bottle to enhance complexity. Disgorgement occurs precisely 12 months post-secondary fermentation, ensuring ideal maturation. Finally, a dosage of 4 to 10 grams perfects each bottle’s balance and harmony.

Domaine de la Villaudiere Sancerre 2024
Sancerre, in the upper Loire Valley, is the benchmark for Sauvignon Blanc in Europe — crisp and fruity, with racy acidity. The grapes for the Monograph Assyrtiko come from vineyards located in the semi-mountainous Koutsi region of Nemea. Unlike the bone-dry, volcanic soils of its native Santorini, the calcareous soils of mainland Greece impart an entirely different character to the varietal, giving it a wider range of exotic fruit flavors and aromas. This is a youthful, intensely fruity Assyrtiko, with a bouquet of honeysuckle and citrus fruit and a refreshing acidity on the palate.

Luigi Righetti Custoza DOC 2024
The Luigi Righetti Custoza is a delightfully vibrant wine. A clear, pale lemon colour in the glass, the bouquet is intense and complex with aromas of citrus fruits such as tangerine and lime as well floral orange blossom and tropical notes of banana and pineapple. The wine is light and juicy on the palate with citrus and white peach flavours and a distinct roundness that finishes with mouthwatering acidity.

Luigi Righetti Pinot Grigio 2024
Righetti’s Pinot Grigio shows good mid-palate weight and fruit concentration. The nose has floral aromas with overtones of pistachios and just a hint of honey. The palate is soft and round with a long, clean citrus finish. The production of Pinot Grigio was elevated to DOC status in 2017 with the adoption of the “delle Venezie” production area which includes the entire regions of Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia and Trentino.

Majolini Franciacorta Brut
Franciacorta is one of the best-kept secrets among lovers of traditionally made sparkling wine. Champagne and Cava are fairly well understood in our market: Franciacorta less so. Not to be outdone, the region stipulates the wine must receive longer lees contact than the minimum required for Cava and Champagne. A case in point is this Brut, which receives 36 months of aging on lees before disgorgement.

Marcel Cabelier L’Etoile Chardonnay 2023
As seen this weekend at the 2025 i4C conference in Niagara. L’Etoile is a very small Appellation within the Jura region, so named because the area encompasses 5 hilltop villages arrayed in the shape of a star. In addition, the limestone rich soils contain marine fossils of tiny pentracines (star fish). Aged for 18 months in oak barrels (70% new), it displays a deep golden hue in the glass. On the nose the wine exhibits intense aromas of baked golden apple and ripe pear with notes of spice, honey, hazelnuts and vanilla. A subtle oxidative note characteristic of Jura white wines leads to a mineral driven, rich, creamy and full-bodied finish.

Raimat Albarino 2024
Cultivated on a number of plots, this is one of Raimat’s more exciting wines; the varietal is rare in this part of Spain. The wine is pale yellow in color with greenish hues. Intense aromas of citrus, dried flowers and spices with an additional hint of sweet vanilla. Raimat Albarino was the first Albarino to be introduced to the market outside of D.O. Rias Baixas.

Veuve Olivier et Fils Champagne Grande Reserve
This is a luscious Champagne composed mostly from the 2018 vintage which rested on lees for 6 years. 40% of the blend is the result of adding reserve wine from the 2017 vintage. Aromas of yellow fruits (plum and apricot) and brioche, while the palate reveals freshness, good acidity, and notes of red grapefruit and kumquat. Very fine mousse; great length.

Zahel Gruner Veltliner Goldberg 2023
2023 Grüner Veltliner “Ried Goldberg”. The word “Ried” refers to a natural area, usually created in the former floodplain of a river that, in this case it, denotes a single vineyard sourcing. The Goldberg vineyard is located in the south-eastern most wine growing region of Vienna. It is cultivated organically with adherence to biodynamic principles. Expect a wine with light green reflections in the glass showing aromas of white flowers, melon, green apples and white pepper. On the palate, the wine is crisp with juicy pineapple and citrus notes and a very lively, fresh acidity. A great spring and summer white.

Zanatta Vermentino di Gallura DOCG Renadoro 2024
Vines are grown all over the island of Sardinia, but it is from Gallura (“stony area” located in northeastern corner) where many of the better wines originate. The whole island benefits from the briny nature of the strong, sea air, yet Gallura is particularly unique as the soil is build upon a foundation of Granite and the sandy soil which is derived from weathering of the granite hillsides.
