Tasting Notes

Les Figues is reference to the massive, aged, fig tree which dominates the landscape of the main house on the estate, and also to the luscious figs found all over the region. This wine is a blend of 45% Viognier, 40% Roussanne, and 15% Clairette, grown in calcareous clay soils.

A pretty golden colour in the glass, the wine bursts forth on the nose with aromas of tangy pineapple, pear, apricot and crisp apple followed by scents of spice and white flowers. On the palate there is much to like as the flavours of tropical fruits harmonize with a zesty acidity and juicy finish. This medium bodied white would be very versatile at the table and is best enjoyed chilled (but not cold) to accentuate the beautiful and supple mouthfeel.

White Rhône wines represent only a tiny fraction (6-7%) of the wines produced in the appellation which is overwhelmingly dedicated to red. Certified organic.

Chicken Satays, Sushi, Grilled Pork Chops, Asparagus with Leamon Sauce, Seared Scallops, Fried Red Mullet, Exceptionally adaptable with cheese…almost any variety works!
