Tasting Notes

An intriguing blend of Tempranillo (55%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (45%). The name Abadia (Abbey in English) is in reference to the commitment and patience of monks who worked the land in the beginning.

The grapes are purposely harvested at night, when temperatures are cooler to reduce the risk of oxidation. The grapes are de-stemmed and further cooled in tank. The juice used for this wine is strictly free run juice, prior to pressing. This serves to produce the freshest possible Rosada, with limited phenolic extraction.

Bright pale pink leaning towards an onion skin colour. Supple aromas with elegant notes of strawberry, cherries, flowers and a hint of grapefruit. In the mouth the wine shows ripe, dry, cherry fruit and a touch of aniseed.

Food Pairings

Perfect with all kinds of tapas, oily fish (tuna, salmon and sardines), pasta and rice dishes or pizza, dark meat poultry such as quail or pheasant.
