Tasting Notes

Here is a mixed case of some of the most renowned California and Italian producers we have in the portfolio. This is a rare treat to try them in a mixed case (4 different wines, 3 bottles of each):

2020 Belle Glos Balade Pinot Noir
Exclusive to us, not available anywhere else in Ontario, this is a deep and complex wine. Expect aromas of blueberry cream crepes, juicy plum, toasty pie crust, melcocha and flan, laced with black fruit, vanilla, nutmeg, and cinnamon. The entry is mouth-filling, and expansive then segues to a chalky firmness with rounded edges.

2017 Thread Count Cabernet Sauvignon
Napa Valley Cab that has structure, elegance and complexity. Deep purple with scarlet highlights this wine is bold and layered, and complex. Notes of ripe blackberry, cedar wood, and espresso come through on the palate.

2015 Colognole Chianti Rufina Riserva del Don
A wine made by an amazing producer from a stellar vintage. This Sangiovese is aged 24 months in a selection of French and Slovenian oak barrels. Expect a deep, lively, ruby colour while the nose reveals a complex, balanced amalgam of ripe fruit, dense berries, red rose and pungent balsam. Maturation in oak has softened the tannins somewhat, but further bottle age is recommended to bring out the fine quality characteristics of this vintage.

2018 Biondi Santi Sassoalloro igt Toscana
100% proprietary BBS11 Sangiovese clone, the grape exclusively produced by the Biondi Santi family, who craft some of the best Brunellos. Complex and fresh, with red cherry, dried herbs, floral notes of sweet violets, a mild oakiness with a balsamic spiciness coming through.
