Tasting Notes
Syrah aged 16 months in 60% French and 40% American oak. A terroir-driven wine, with a rich aroma of black cherry, pepper and charred meat. The palate reveals black plum, more cherries and cocoa with a hint of fennel. Fine tannins and youthful acid lead to a lingering finish of vanilla and blueberry.
Third Party Reviews
Syrah is formidable and very much a wine that will require patience, need coaxing and demand coddling to be extracted from its tannic shell. Tannins are not the only matter but fruit so dense, complicated, rich and luxe that the layering will ask for help in extrication. Wow is this a massive lapping of luxury developed fruit in cohorts with cool, minty savour and sweet wood accents. Very fine. Drink 2021-2028. Score 93, Michael Godel, November 2019.
