Given the evident climatic differences throughout the narrow territory of Chile, Terranoble wanted to explore this diversity in the CA project: 100% Carmenere that, under similar conditions of vinification, production and aging, show different characteristics based on the influence of either the Andes or the Coast. The CA1 comes from the Los Lingues vineyard in the Andes section of the Colchagua Valley. 85% of the wine was aged in new and twice used French oak barrels, and 15% in untoasted foudres for 14 months. This wine shows an enticing profile, with fresh and intense aromas of red fruits, some notes of herbs and red bell-pepper, characteristic of the variety, as well as mild and refined touches of oak to enhance its fruit and add complexity. The palate is full and round with balanced tannins that feel generous on the palate, a long finish that is creamy while maintaining freshness. Read Less

Toasty oak and an earthy edge add to the wine’s great complexity. Aromas of cedar oak, currants, black cherries and ripe plums suggest the fruit flavors to come, as does the intense, deep red color of the wine. Dense, mouth-filling cherries, plums, chocolate and tobacco marry with the oak nuances. The firm tannins underlying the wine's core provide balance, leading to a long, lingering finish. Read Less

Howell Mountain is Dunn’s estate bottling of Cabernet Sauvignon. Their vineyards lie at 1400 feet above sea level, above the fog, so when it is foggy in Napa it is sunny on the mountain. However, despite this excess of sunshine, temperatures are cooler, especially at night. Grapes develop thick skins in this environment, and the Dunn style is to produce a wine that shows the power and structure of the mountain. Tannins require time to soften, but these wines have great richness, complexity and longevity. Read Less
