Tasting Notes
Lupo is an interesting throwback to the way Sangiovese was revealed a few decades ago. Fabio used older clones which yield much larger bunches of grapes than more modern clones. The result is a lighter expression of Sangiovese than we are accustomed. This is a really pretty and exciting wine.
Crystalline, cherry red in colour, the wine is dominated by notes of wild strawberry and red cherry, white pepper and Mediterranean herbs. Lupo is a fresh, summery wine. On the palate the wine shows great tension and minerality.
Food Pairings
Serve as an aperitif or paired with white meat, vegetables, cheeses and charcuterie. Also pairs nicely with fish and seafood. Even better if served slightly chilled.
