Our Italian Bubbles case offers the opportunity to sample two styles of sparklers. The first, Prosecco probably needs no introduction, while the second, Lambrusco may not be as familiar. A perfect mix of familiarity and adventure this holiday season.

N/V Terre Gaie Prosecco DOC :
The Prosecco DOC, established in 2009, covers over 28,000 Hectares in the northeast Italian region of the Veneto and a small section of Friuli Venezia-Giulia. It is by far the largest DOC region in Italy and produces well over 600 million bottles annually. It is also the biggest export category in sparkling wine, accounting for over 40% of all the sparkling wine exported world-wide. All this to say, it is so popular for a reason.

Terre Gaie’s Prosecco DOC (Brut) is straw-yellow in color with greenish tints. It has a fresh and delicate bouquet with fruity aromas and hints of apple. In the mouth, the bubbles are very fine and persistent while quite elegant and exceptionally easy to enjoy. A lively start to any party!

2021 Villa di Corlo Lambrusco “Corleto” :
Grown in the hills around the town of Modena in Emilia-Romagna, the Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro (literally “the wild red stalked vine of Castlevetro”) is known for producing some of the most deeply coloured and richly flavoured Lambrusco wine. There has been a renewed interest in Lambrusco as quality conscious producers like Villa di Corlo have led a dramatic increase in quality.

An intense ruby red/purple in the glass, this luscious wine displays aromas of strawberry jam, blueberries and violets. The palate is rich, structured and perfectly dry, with a slightly tannic finish. It makes and superb accompaniment to festive charcuterie and cheese plates as well as fatty fowl like roast duck or goose.
