Tasting Notes

The 2016 Château l’Ermitage Listrac-Médoc is produced from a 9-hectare vineyard with the average age of vines being approximately 40 years. Grapes are harvested and then undergo rigorous sorting before vinification in temperature controlled stainless steel vats for a period of 21 days. After vinification, the wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels (10% new).

At 5+ years from the vintage, the wine is beginning to show the garnet hues of maturity. The bouquet has blossomed into aromas of ripe currants and blackberries with hints of cedar and thyme. Time has rounded the tannins and the wine shows good volume and precision with wonderful balance in the mouth. Would be wonderful with the Sunday roast!

Food Pairings

Stuffed quail, grilled steak, grilled duck.
