Tasting Notes

This 100% Merlot is crafted from a selection of the estate’s best grapes grown on clay-loam soils. In terms of vinification, the grapes undergo an extended maceration on the skins for about 30 days. The wine is then matured in fine grained French oak barrels 30% new) for 15 months. The result – a very rich and plush wine on the palate, it displays complex aromas of plum, blackberry and Asian spice notes. Drinking very nicely now, it has a bright future ahead of it.

Food Pairings

Beef Wellington, Lamb Tagine, Duck Confit, Beef Burritos, Macaroni and Cheese, Comté or Sainte-Nectaire Cheese

90 points Neal Martin (Vinous, January 2019)

“… medium to deep-garnet colored and features plum preserves, black cherries and blueberry scents with pencil shavings, smoked meats and tar hints. … the palate reveals plenty of black fruit and savoury nuances with plush texture and oodles of freshness, finishing earthy. Drink 2019 to 2030” – 90 points Lisa Perrotti-Brown (The Wine Advocate, November 2018)
