Tasting Notes
Clare Valley is one of Australia’s oldest wine producing areas. The unique combination of geography, geology and climate is synonymous for producing high quality wines. It is one of the coolest viticultural areas in Australia allowing for the slow and even ripening on the vine.
This vintage is true to form, cool and dry conditions perfect for long ripening producing good natural acidity and extracts. After fermentation and racking, the wine was aged in a combination of French and American oak barrels for an average of 10 months. Expect a smooth and velvety Merlot with attractive aromas of blackberry, plum, vanilla and spice. The soft tannins and lingering dark fruit on the palate make this wine a pleasure to drink.
