Turbiana

Turbiana is a white grape variety that is primarily grown in the Lugana wine region of northern Italy, particularly around Lake Garda in the provinces of Lombardy and Veneto. It is considered the most important grape variety in the Lugana DOC appellation and is also used to produce wines under the Garda DOC appellation.

Turbiana is known for producing wines that are high in acidity and alcohol, with a delicate and complex flavor profile. The grapes have a thick skin and are resistant to pests and disease, which makes them well-suited for organic and sustainable farming practices.

In terms of flavor, Turbiana wines are typically characterized by notes of citrus, green apple, pear, and white flowers, with a subtle minerality that is reminiscent of the lake and soil where the grapes are grown. The wines are often aged in stainless steel or oak barrels, which helps to further enhance their complexity and depth of flavor.

Turbiana wines are typically enjoyed young and fresh, although they can also be aged for several years to develop more complex flavors and aromas. They are versatile wines that pair well with a variety of foods, including seafood, pasta dishes, and light meats.
