Tasting Notes
Italy is as diverse in its wines as it is in its cuisine. Gone are the days when the only Italian white wine offering on a restaurant wine list was Pinot Grigio. Today there are many options for fresh, crisp, aromatic whites from Italy that pair beautifully with food or can be served as a lovely aperitivo.
In this 12 bottle case, you will receive 3 bottles each of the following 4 wines:
Luigi Righetti – 2020 Pinot Grigio: Unlike many Pinot Grigio, Righetti’s shows good mid-palate weight and fruit concentration. The nose has floral aromas with overtones of pistachios and just a hint of honey. The palate is soft and round with a long, clean citrus finish.
Casale Marchese – 2019 Frascati Superiore: An immediate fresh fragrance of tropical fruit with floral and herbal nuances. Melon, almond, acacia flowers, apples and citrus with a hint of aromatic mint come to mind. Medium-bodied with a good structure and an intense taste that confirms the nose, it lingers in a soft and elegant finish, fruity yet aromatic and minty clean.
Zanatta – 2019 Vermentino di Gallura DOCG Renadoro: Vines are grown all over the island of Sardinia, but it is from Gallura where many of the better wines originate. The wine shows an intense nose of floral, exotic fruit, orange oil and a hint of spices. The palate is dry and crisp while displaying notes of yellow apple, apricot and lemon verbena. Medium body and solid acidity.
Tunella – 2019 RjGialla: Ribolla Gialla is a great variatal native to Friuli, one of the jewels of this beautiful region. Bright straw yellow with fine green reflections. The nose is elegant, floral and fruity, with notes of acacia, plum, peach and crab apple. The palate is full, dry and fresh, with a pleasant flavour and an aromatic aftertaste.
