Tasting Notes
This blend of 87% Pinot Blanc, 13% Pinot Grigio is grown in the Casablanca Valley area of Las Dichas. Grapes were fermented in amphorae with native yeasts. Maceration with the skins lasted three months without temperature control nor addition of SO2, and only with the grapes natural acidity. After three months, the skins were removed and the wine was racked into smaller amphorae.
Intense, complex and floral aromas with notes of quince, orange and lemon peel. There is an evident earthy and mineral component. On palate it has very good structure; firm, long, mineral, fresh and vibrant acidity, with a great balance. 12% alc.
Food Pairings
Raw shrimp, grilled octopus, oysters. Can also be enjoyed as an aperitif.
Third Party Reviews
TerraNoble’s pinot gris vineyard in Las Dichas has a few pinot blanc plants mixed in as well. Winemaker Marcelo García decided to harvest and ferment the varieties separately and then age them, also separately, in new clay amphorae for 3 months and in contact with its lees. Later they are blended to approximately 87% pinot gris and 13% pinot blanc. The first thing that catches your attention is the palate, which is tremendous, big, firm, full of vibrant acidity and fresh, lively flavors reminiscent of orange zest and lemons. Take it to a barbecue to pour with grilled fish and shellfish. TOP ORANGE WINE. Score 93, Descorchados , Sept 2020
