Tasting Notes
Given the evident climatic differences throughout the narrow territory of Chile, Terranoble wanted to explore this diversity in the CA project: 100% Carmenere that, under similar conditions of vinification, production and aging, show different characteristics based on the influence of either the Andes or the Coast.
The CA1 comes from the Los Lingues vineyard in the Andes section of the Colchagua Valley. 85% of the wine was aged in new and twice used French oak barrels, and 15% in untoasted foudres for 14 months.
This wine shows an enticing profile, with fresh and intense aromas of red fruits, some notes of herbs and red bell-pepper, characteristic of the variety, as well as mild and refined touches of oak to enhance its fruit and add complexity. The palate is full and round with balanced tannins that feel generous on the palate, a long finish that is creamy while maintaining freshness.
Food Pairings
Try with meats, risotti or well-seasoned dishes.
Third Party Reviews
CA is TerraNoble’s project that aims to show the differences between 2 zones in Colchagua, one toward the sea and the other toward the mountains. In this case, the grapes come from the winery’s own vineyards in Los Lingues, at the foot of the Andes. So there’s that. Another thing is that the style of the house’s wines have been greatly refined lately and now offer fresher flavors than in the past. And that means that the two wines are similar. In this one, the fruit is juicy and full of red notes in a refreshing red. Score 94, Descorchados , Sept 2020
