Tasting Notes
The 2022 Terre Gaie Tenore Rosso is composed of approximately equal amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon, Carménerè and Merlot. Grapes are fermented with indigenous yeasts in temperature-controlled steel tanks with repeated punching down to extract the aromatic compounds. After fermentation, the wine is aged in oak barrels for 12 to 16 months.
The name “Tenore” is in honor of the Lovo family’s long-standing friendship and collaboration with a certain famous Italian Opera singer.
A bright and lively purple with red reflections, the bouquet is intense with aromatic black cherry and cassis notes that meld with a distinct herbal/mineral inflection from the Carménerè. The palate is juicy and focussed with gentle tannins leading to a persistent and rounded finish. It will continue to develop complexity in the bottle with mid-term cellaring.
