Tasting Notes
The CA project is an exploration into the different expressions that Carmenere can have in Chilean terroirs. Winemaker Ignacio Conca teaches enology at the University of Santiago and this is a project he undertook with his students. Grapes were picked at its maximum of maturity to keeps all its aromatics potential.
CA1 Andes 2021
From the Los Lingues Vineyard in the valley’s northern sector at the feet of the Andes Mountains. Soils are colluvial and of ancient terrace formation. They are of medium depth and high in organic matter. Loamy to clay-silt with stones below. Elevation 370 metres above sea level.
A deep red colour with violet hues, the wine displays great elegance and outstanding typicity. Intense aromas of raspberry and plum are interspersed with cocoa and jalapeño notes. The wine feels round on the palate, concentrated and unctuous, with a silky texture from soft, ripe tannins and its aging in oak. A long, fruity and persistent finish ends in freshness and great volume. (14.3% Alc., 3.1 gr/L RS)
