Southern Hemisphere Mixed Case
(3 different wines, 4 bottles of each)
$19.75 per Bottle / $237 case of 12
Though not the original home of Cabernet Sauvignon, wineries in the southern hemisphere have been doing great things with the variety. Bold new-world winemakers from the south have sought out terroir conducive to the grape in their respective countries. As a result they are producing wines that go toe-to-toe with their northern counterparts. Not only will you find exceptional wines in this group, but also excellent value.
Septima Cabernet Sauvignon,
Mendoza, Argentina 2020
From the seventh winery of the Codorniu-Raventos family located in Agrelo, Mendoza. Five centuries of winemaking goes into the making of elegant, transparent and genuine wines.
This wine underwent a natural malolactic fermentation. 90% was matured in stainless steel tanks for 10 months; 10% was kept in new French oak barrels. Bright, deep red color. Aromas of black pepper, spices, black tea and plums stand out on the nose, combined with subtle cinnamon and toasted aromas. On the palate you’ll find a ripe fruit initial impression balanced against soft tannins and a lengthy finish.
Terranoble Cabernet Sauvignon,
Colchagua Valley, Chile 2019
The Colchagua Valley is considered by many to be Chile’s Napa, with a Mediterranean climate cooled at night by Pacific breezes which help to build complexity. There is a wonderful richness and concentration in this Cabernet Sauvignon.
Red berries, smoke, chocolate and pure fruit dominate the nose. An intense and exquisite wine with dark ruby color of remarkable depth.
Kingston Estate Cabernet Sauvignon,
Limestone Coast, Australia 2019
Vineyards for this wine are located along South Australia’s Limestone Coast. The highly rated area has a relatively cool climate and is home to Coonawarra, Mount Benson and Padthaway regions, among others.
This is a fine, deep red wine with aromas of blackcurrant fruits, complemented by layers of sweet-smelling vanillin oak. The palate displays Great intensity of ripe black-currant with lifted spice and firm tannins on the finish.
