Mixed Case – Kingston Estate Reds

Tasting Notes

The wines we offer today are produced in South Australia, and specifically originate from Clare Valley (the Shiraz and Merlot) and the Limestone Coast (Cabernet Sauvignon). The case contains 4 bottles each of the three wines described below.

Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 (Limestone Coast):
Vineyards for this wine are located in South Australia’s Limestone Coast. The well-regarded wine producing area has a relatively cool climate and is home to Coonawarra, Mount Benson and Padthaway regions, among others.

This is a fine, deep red wine with aromas of blackcurrant fruits, complemented by layers of sweet-smelling vanillin oak. The palate displays Great intensity of ripe black-currant with lifted spice and firm tannins on the finish.
Enjoy with rare beef or blue vein cheese. Just 5000 cases made annually; aged12 months in American and French oak barrels.

Shiraz 2019 (Clare Valley):
Sourced exclusively from Kingston Estate’s vineyard in Clare Valley, this wine is superb. Clare Valley is one of Australia’s oldest wine producing areas. The Clare’s combination of geography, geology and climate is synonymous for producing highly praised wines. The 2019 vintage finished with smaller berry size and lighter crops due to lower than average rainfall, resulting in early ripening and high-quality fruit.

This is a dry, dense red showing abundant dark spicy fruits with subtle pepper notes and skillfully integrated toasty oak. The rich vibrant ripe fruits resonate seamlessly with soft silky tannins to give a long velvet textured finish.

Enjoy with rare rib eye steak or rich flavoured game including venison. Just 7500 cases produced annually, aged in a combination of American and French oak.

Merlot 2019 (Clare Valley):
The 2019 Merlot was also sourced from the Clare Valley, as described in the note about the Shiraz.

Like the other two reds in this mixed case, this, too, is a dry and dense wine. Aromas provide abundant ripe plum and raspberry fruits with evident toasty oak. The palate shows generous fruit flavours combine with smooth integrated tannins, providing medium body and good length.

Try with grilled meats and pasta dishes. 5,000 cases made annually and matured in a combination of American and French oak.
