Tasting Notes
The Côtes du Jura appellation encompasses the entire vineyard area of the Jura. The grape variety Trousseau (also known as Bastardo) comprises about 5% of the total vineyard plantings and is one of the regions signature varieties. If you enjoy Pinot Noir, you are likely to also appreciate the complex and earthy character of Trousseau. The 2020 vintage was a warm vintage in Jura and the resulting wines are fuller and richer than previous examples. Expected a cherry red wine which shows distinct aromas of strawberry jam, black cherries, violets, tea and spice. The palate is very juicy and refined with notes of ripe red fruits and underbrush with a lingering, mouth-watering finish.
Food Pairings
Terrines, charcuterie, steak tartare, chicken with morel mushroom sauce, seafood stews, pork sausages, Comté cheese (which is also from this region)
