This is the quintessential Lombardy wine that was widely produced prior to the production of Franciacorta (Champagne-method sparking wine) that is now ubiquitous in the region. The wine is deep, rich and robust, with a distinctly wild quality that comes from the addition of Barbera and Nebbiolo. It has an attractive, gently juicy, ripe Damson Plum nose with hints of black cherries and sandalwood. On the palate it is dry and harmonious with plummy, gently juicy, lingering, ripe cherry flavours
Enjoy with red meat dishes like grilled steak, braised beef ribs or pasta with a bolognese sauce.
