On offer today, are three exceptional Australian Shiraz wines from Kingston Estate, that are an impressive display of what we are calling “Very Good, Better and Best”. From these 3 wines you will get the chance to try wines from three different vintages (2017, 2018, 2019 – although not to worry they were all rated 90+) but more importantly, you will get a window on Clare Valley and Barossa Valley.

Very Good: Clare Valley – 2019 Estate Shiraz:
The 2019 vintage finished with smaller berry size and lighter crops as a result of lower than average rainfall.

Evident plum and pepper spice is complimented with the essence of black olives and subtle hints of toasted oak. Complex cassis and dark chocolate notes are exquisitely balanced with fine tannins to provide great length and a smooth finish.

Better: Barossa Valley – 2018 Echelon Shiraz:
The 2018 vintage finds its home in the distinguished Barossa Valley. A hot dry start to vintage but a cooler March resulted in even ripening of the fruit and great varietal intensity.

The Echelon range showcases some of the best fruit Kingston Estate brings into the winery each vintage from its Barossa vineyards.

The 2018 shows black cherries and vanilla with liquorice and spice on the nose, with subtle hints of mint and skillfully integrated toasty oak on the palate. The vibrant ripe fruit resonates seamlessly with soft silky tannins to give a long velvet textured finish.

Best: Barossa Valley – 2017 Empiric – Single Vineyard Shiraz:
2017 was a long and cool vintage producing wines exhibiting excellent aromas and flavours.

Kingston Estate’s premium “Empiric” is a Single Vineyard Shiraz showcasing a wine that is a bold representation of Australia’s Barossa Valley.

Hand selected parcels within the vineyard produce a wine of exceptional quality. Empiric has vibrant and rich blueberry and dark cherry aromas which immediately jump from the glass. It shows a bold and opulent palate filled with generous red berry fruits and dark plum, combined with the perfect presence of supple tannins.
