Tasting Notes
VERY LIMITED: From a 1-hectare plot of 65-year-old vines of the historic ‘Villero’ cru in the village of Castiglione Falletto. Soils here are clayey with calcareous sediments, rich in iron. Nebbiolo Michet, Lampia and Rosé clones are grown here. Just 5,000 bottles produced.
The color is intense garnet red with ruby reflections, with a bright and lively appearance. The scent is complex and rich in hints of fruit, flowers, spices, undergrowth and plums. It has an intense flavor with sweet tannins and a long aftertaste.
Food Pairings
In it youth try with braised beef cheeks to counteract the firm tannins. As the wine ages, it will pair with softer veal and mushroom type dishes or mushroom rissoto.
