Double Canyon sources its Horse Heaven Hills fruit from four vineyards in the Alderdale region. In 2016, harvest unfolded early because of warm temperatures throughout the season. Fortunately, the fall temperatures were ideal for extending hang time and picking when the grapes reached their optimum peak.
Characteristic of the appellation and 2016 vintage, this 88% Cabernet offers aromas of blackberry, red plum and floral notes intermixed with touches of forest floor. The addition of 6% Syrah leads to a full and rich texture on the mid-palate, further accented by bright minerality from the 3% of Petit Verdot, sweet red cherry from the 2% of Merlot and luscious blueberry notes supplied by the 15 of Malbec. The soft and supple mouthfeel is supported by the complexity of sweet oak tannins and a hint of anise, finishing with the juicy acidity that is characteristic of Horse Heaven Hills. 14.2% alc.
Try with grilled rib steak, roast pork or mushroom lasagna

A wine that leads with attractive savor—scents of cedar, nightshade, and prairie sage—this has a sleek, dark core of fruit. It’s a stylish cabernet, tasting like crushed blueberries dusted with thyme . Best Buy. Score 92, Wine & Spirits, November 2019
