Tasting Notes

The Domaine Alain Michelot is a Nuits-Saint-Georges specialist: of the domaine’s eight hectares, 7.5 are in Nuits. Winemaking is now run by Alain’s daughter Élodie Michelot, who has brought a feminine touch to the wine. She has concentrated on bringing finesse and elegance to the wines, without sacrificing the power of the terroir.

Nuits-Saint-Georges Vieilles Vignes displays all the richness garnered from old vines. Two vineyard sites are used for sources, one in the Southern part of the village, with vines ranging from 65 and 77 years, and another, in Primeaux-Prisey, with vines of about 50 years of age. Powerful, aromatic and with wonderful texture this wine offers complex flavours of blackberry, blackcurrant and smoke leading on to a long, elegant and flavoursome finish.
