Tasting Notes
The 2018 Ceretti “Ceret-One” Nizza (their top production, formerly known as Barbera d’Asti Superiore) is sourced from the Ceretti family’s best vineyards. Dense, ruby red in colour. This wine is complex and balanced, refined, yet intense. Aromas of dark plum and blackberry underpinned by black pepper. On the palate, the spicy and fruity aromas are mirrored, with added notes of cocoa, coffee and herbs. Tannins are supple and supported by fresh, vibrant acidity.
As the fruit extraction in Nizza is more intense, the wine receives some oak treatment that not only oxygenates the wine, but also enhances the spicy character of Barbera.
