The 2019 Cisterna d’Asti Superiore DOC offers aromas which are intense, delicate and distinctive, while the taste is dry, also delicate and harmonious. The wine is medium bodied, with bold flavours of red berry fruit (raspberry and strawberry) complemented with spice and almonds on the finish. It could also be very enjoyable lightly chilled for summer. The “superiore” designation applies to wines of a minimum 12% (in this case 14.5%) alcohol content that have received at least 10 months of aging.
Food Pairings
Pair this with salumi or locally inspired dishes such as egg yolk pasta (Tajarin) with a veal or rabbit ragu.
