Tasting Notes
This Garnacha was named the top Grenache in the world for 2019 at the International Wine Challenge. It is made from 100 year old vines grown at 800 metres in a Biosphere Reserve. The Reserve is a huge protected area in Rioja that has only two wineries and does not allow the use of any fertilizers or sprays, ensuring organic viticulture. The vineyards are poor stoney soils, so desolate they could be mistaken for a lunar landscape.
Deep ruby colour with fairly intense nose of blueberry, spice and dark black cherries nose with a generous and rounded palate. Elegant yet powerful, with a long finish. Traditional style aged for 8 months in new American and French oak barrels, and bottled unfiltered.
Food Pairings
Match with steaks,, lamb or pork chops cooked on the barbecue or over a wood fire.
