Tasting Notes
Dark, juicy and well-structured. Composed of 60% Montepulciano, 40% Sangiovese. It is aged for 12 months in used French barriques, then 12 months in bottle before release adding structure and complexity while retaining the fresh fruit aromas that make this wine so lovely. It is a medium/full bodied red with great fruit concentration as well as a great backbone of acidity making it very food friendly. On the palate expect bright red fruit and berries, sweet spice, vanilla with a floral undertones of violet. It has full, ripe tannins and needs time to open, so decanting for 1 before serving is best.
Food Pairings
Tagliatelle alla bolognese, meaty pizzas, gourmet burgers, a spread including hard cheeses such as Parmigiano Reggiano or Pecorino, cured meats and Italian olives
