Tasting Notes
Armilla is one of the smallest producing estates in all of Montalcino. With just a few hundred cases of the Rosso produced annually, this estate is true to our name as a small winemaker.
This a dry, savoury wine, well balanced with a great structure. As can be expected from a wine crafted from Sangiovese, there is an acidic backbone that ensures the finish is long and clean. On the palate the Rosso is full bodied with hints of red berry fruit and vanilla. It has forward aromas of fruit and wood.
Despite being pure Sangiovese, the age of the vines and vineyard location are such that this wine can be consumed in its youth even though it will also age well.
Food Pairings
Goes well with food especially bold cheese from Tuscany.
