Tasting Notes
This case contains 2 bottles of each of the following:
Domaine Masse St Véran Les Terroirs 2018 comes from 2 different plots of more than 45 years old. Ideal, South East exposure, with 50% fermentation in casks and 50% in stainless steel. This wine shows the minerality of Saint Véran with lovely orchard fruit and floral notes. Good weight and volume on the palate. Pair with charcuterie platters (ham or pâtés) or sea food (scallop-shells, salmon). Drink now and for up to 8 years.
Claudie Jobard Pommard 2017 comes from 3 plots of the family’s 1.5 Ha of vineyards in the Cote de Beaune. The average age is 75 years. Lovely nose of macerated cherries and some savoury underbrush. Flavours of blackcurrant, wild strawberry, lingonberry and plum. Great structure and power, but with the finesse and maturity one expects from Claudie Jobard. Serve with rare duck breast or venison. Drink now and for the next 8 years.
Philippe Leclerc Gevrey Chambertin Les Platieres 2017, though not enough to be invasive. The supple, round and attractively textured medium weight flavors deliver excellent length. Classic Gevrey from a classic vintage. Pair with grilled or roast pork, braised beef in sauce, sirloin or rib of beef, Epoisses cheese. Cellar for 4 to 12 years.
