Garganega
An Important white grape found primarily in Veneto – particularly the Soave growing zone on the eastern side of the Veneto region. It is also part of the blends from Bianco di Custoza, Colli Euganei and to a small extent in Friuli and Umbria. The grape tends toward producing wines with light to medium body, modest alcohol and bright acidity. Fruit expression is typically citrus and almond transitioning to toasted almond with age. Perhaps its best outcomes can be found in Soave Classico growing area where yields are best managed and terroir ideal for this varietal.
