    Dark black cherry color indicating the ripeness of the vintage. Nose is expressive and big with cherry and notes of licorice and dates. Mouthcoatingly smooth and with more ripe cherry, toast and mineral on the palate. The finish sticks to the teeth and is long. The balance of the fruit, alcohol, oak and acidity work perfectly together to form a finish that easily lasts 45 seconds. The tannins are ripe, but firm.

    Cantine Rallo Vicoletto Catarratto 2023

    Vicoletto is a relatively new project from Cantine Rallo based in Marsala on the western side of Sicily. The Catarratto grapes are grown organically in sandy soils high up in the hills of Alcamo. After hand harvesting, grapes are softly pressed and 90% is transferred to tank without skins for fermentation, while 10% is fermented on skins for a total of 12 days. Both elements undergo natural fermentation with wild yeasts. The 10% skin contact wine is then blended in, and the resulting wine is bottled without stabilisation, filtration, fining or added sulfur.

    Codorníu Zero is a pleasant, non-alcoholic sparkling wine made from Xarel-lo and Chardonnay Unlike some of its competitors, the Codorniu Zero begins as a wine; a product of fermentation. The wine is then subjected to a low temperature vacuum distillation process that removes almost all of the alcohol (less the 0.5% alcohol remains) while preserving its more delicate characteristics. This process is followed by the addition of CO2, sugar and small amounts of flavouring to provide additional interest to the finished product.

Today, Caroline handles the wine making while Frederic attends to the vineyards. Their estate vineyards are distinguished by sandy soils which give the wines fine tannins and great elegance. The end results are wines of distinct freshness, vibrancy and balance. The name Courtedune is a derivation from the French word Courthézon or “sand dune”.

    This unique wine is produced on the island of Santorini. The vines are planted on a 15-degree slope facing East and Southeast on transferred pumice stone soil. The wine is made from the Assyrtiko grape and is light and aromatic. Only free run must is used, which is then fermented for approximately days at 15C. The resulting wine is almost white in color, bone-dry, with strong character, eliciting considerable structure, with crisp acidity, distinctive minerality and delicate honeysuckle aromas.
