Domaine la Roubine
The story began in 1990 when Eric Ughetto took over the family vineyards located in Gigondas. He was joined by his wife Sophie in the late 90s and the two of them decided to make wine with their own grapes. The new Domaine La Roubin was created in 2000 with its first vintage. Today, the company is still a family run business; Eric works at the wine cellar, while Sophie manages both the cellar and the business. The couple also work together in the organically farmed vineyards which total 15.5 hectares spread over 5 different AOC. They grow the typical grapes of the southern Rhone; Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre, but also Cinsault and Counoise which help to create the wine’s distinct personality. The couple firmly believe that great wines are created in the vineyard and they use minimal intervention wine making with strict sorting of grapes and only naturally occurring yeast.
