Mt Difficulty
2013, Roaring Meg Sauvignon Blanc
Central Otago, New Zealand
Major Grape: Sauvignon Blanc
Tasting Notes
Warm summer growing conditions have resulted in a concentrated Sauvignon Blanc in a typical Central Otago style. The wine displays gooseberry flavours intermingled with bell pepper and freshly cut hay; this moves into a full mid-palate and then the wine finishes with lingering passionfruit and rhubarb. This wine is ideal for fun-loving, responsible summer drinking.
Azienda Agricola Rigoloccio
2012, Rosato
Toscana, Italy
Major Grape: Cabernet Franc
Tasting Notes
Made from 100% Cabernet Franc. Salmon coloured, clean and bright, with a pleasing nose of raspberry, strawberry and dried herbs. Light to medium-body with a dry, lingering finish.
Review
Made exclusively from Cabernet Franc, the 2012 Rosato opens with a light raspberry color and delivers sweet aromas of forest berry and fresh raspberry with a pungent touch of almond paste at the back. You’ll even detect a distant accent of dried mint or basil that adds freshness and pungency. The Wine Avocate, August 2013
Domaine du Roc
2012, Minervois Tradition
Languedoc, France
Major Grape: 80% Syrah
Tasting Notes
A deep ruby red colour. Fairly intense nose with red fruits (blueberry, strawberry) dominating and supported by vanilla and lavender. The palate is well structured with ripe blueberry and strawberry flavours. Overall a very approachable wine with ripe fruit and some spicy oak nuances.
